In July 2023, the class of 2013 met at 86 to remember, reconnect, reflect and delight in each other’s company over a shared meal. Time was spent planting a Japanese Lilac in honour of the life of former classmate, Evan Neufeld as well as enjoying a menno burger BBQ. Mr. Friesen and Mr. Durksen were on hand to give some guided tours of the current building and many people were Wow-ed at the redevelopment.

As a school we are grateful for the class of 2013 current connections to Westgate too!
- Owen Baerg has been a full time teacher since last fall.
- Olivia Wiebe is on Maternity leave, but has been a valuable Educational Assistant in Student Services for several years.
- Anya Snider has been hired to do some contract graphic design work for the school — a beautiful sharing of talent.
- Joshua Neustaedter Barg has been volunteering on the golf tournament planning committee and will begin a 3 year Westgate Board term in fall.
We wish the whole class of 2013 all the best and look forward to seeing how they connect in the years to come — volunteers? coaches? guest speakers? donors? parents of new Westgaters?
