Westgate offers an opportunity to write the Sprachdiplom Examinations. These are diplomas issued by the German Government to certify German language skills. There are developed by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) to ensure that language acquisition, the application of language and the language competency of students is transparent and comparable. Weoffer all levels from Basic A1 to Proficient B2/C1. The B2/C1 level is the equivalent ofa German university entrance exam and can qualify students to study in Germany at a University free of tuition. The DELF are six separate diplomas issued by the French Ministry for National Education to certify the French language skills. These diplomas are valid for life and are developed by the Centre International d’Etude Pédagogiques (CIEP) and reflect the six levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFRL). Our French Program at Westgate has both beginner and advanced streams.Students learn to communicate in French and have the opportunity to try out their French in grade 10 or 11 as we offer a European Study Tour to France, planned by our French Department. In grade 12, we prepare some of our students for the DELF exam.
