Hi everyone!
It’s hard to believe 50 years have gone by since high school graduation! I have many great memories of my time spent at MEI!
Following grad, I enrolled in the three year nursing program at the Winnipeg General Hospital ( now the Health Science Centre) Following grad in 1967,my friend and I were accepted for work at the Nanaimo Regional General Hospital where I worked as an RN for 8 months and then moved back to Winnipeg. Why? Well, I had met the man of my dreams just before I graduated and my plans to move to Nanaimo were already in place! I worked at the Winnipeg Children’s Hospital, and in April 1969 , Joe and I were married.
We’ve been blessed with 3 children and 6 grandchildren. After our third child was born, we moved to Kelowna ,BC. I worked part time in Long Term Care for 22 years before retiring. Now Joe and I enjoy travelling– especially to see those precious grandkids! Ryan and Carol live in Langley . Ryan coaches the women’s volley ball team at Trinity Western University and Carol works there as well in the athletic dept. They have 3 boys. Leanne and Rod are pastor ing a church in Hepburn ,Sask. They have 2 children. Leanne is presently working on her masters in spiritual direction. Jason and Tenessa live in Okotoks and have one little girl 2 years old. Jason is a fire fighter in Calgary and Tenessa will teach part time this coming year!
Joe and I are active in the MB church here in Kelowna and have many wonderful friends here. We also enjoy camping with our 27foot trailer.
Our plan is to come to Winnipeg in Sept., so I’m looking forward to connecting with many of you again! Blessings to you all! Irene
