Sam was born and raised in Winnipeg and, following many cousins and siblings, attended Westgate from grade 7-12. While growing up, when Sam was not in school or playing sports, he was often coaching, teaching swimming lessons, or volunteering with children. Sam graduated in 2015 and took a few years to work and travel before pursuing a post-secondary education. He attended the University of Winnipeg where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Filmmaking in 2023. After a few more years of serving in restaurants and working in film Sam felt pulled to explore working as an educator and was very happy to return to Westgate as an educational assistant. Sam is excited to spend his time helping children learn and grow while he considers going back to school again for an Education degree. Outside of work Sam loves being social and spending time with friends and family and is an avid rock climber, often going on weekend trips to Kenora and saving up for bigger trips to B.C. every year.
