While I started my teaching career at a number of other schools, Westgate felt like the right fit and continues to feel like a remarkable place. Teaching English, French, and Geography makes for a varied day! I can go from talking about pop music in French, to discussing the state of the world in Geography, to analysing Crime and Punishment with my AP English class. I attended the University of Manitoba and went on to Bible College, and have participated in summer institutes in French language teaching in Trois-Rivières , Quebec and at St. Boniface College. I completed my Post-Baccalaureate in Education focusing on reading theory, language teaching, and religion. Traveling with students and staff through France and Germany visiting museums, swimming in the Mediterranean, and eating crêpes and kaffe kuchen on the European Study Tour have been amazing experiences. I am also the Producer for the One Act Plays each February, ensuring that the show must go on. Outside the classroom, I enjoy kayaking, paddleboarding, biking, and cross-country skiing - all activities that allow me to enjoy being outside in nature. I also find time to read and I love to recommend books to people. Living in Wolseley with my husband and son, I enjoy the daily walk to Westgate, even in January! Our family attends St. Margaret's Anglican Church.
