Lydia is back at Westgate, this time as a teacher! Previously, she worked here as an EA for three years and is glad to be a part of the community again. She’s so excited to be teaching Grade 8 English and working as a Learning Support Teacher. At the University of Winnipeg, she studied History, Anthropology, and Indigenous Studies. Highlights from her education include studying paleolithic archaeology in Serbia, meeting Jane Goodall, and getting a behind the scenes tour of the Manitoba Archives. Outside of school, Lydia enjoys all things creative; most of her outfits include a piece that she has beaded, painted, or embroidered. When she’s not crafting, you might find her hiking, exploring new trails, or just enjoying time outdoors. She’s looking forward to a fun and engaging year filled with learning, laughter, and creativity!
