A longtime Westgate teacher, Loren teaches creative arts and junior and senior French. He has studied at the University of Manitoba, Columbia Bible Institute, Université Laval and Université du Quebec at Trois Rivières. He believes that learning extends beyond the classroom and works hard to incorporate out-of-school opportunities for his students. He is part of the outdoor education club and the European study tour. He also helps out by driving the bus and lending his technical ability to Westgate's productions. He enjoys traveling, camping, fishing and building. Most important are family time and vacations with his wife Kathie and their children Mollie and Jackson. Loren strongly believes in God who cares and Jesus who loves sacrificially. He uses Philippians 4:4-7 as a guide: "Rejoice in the Lord always, again I say rejoice! Let your gentleness be known to everyone, the Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving present your requests to God, and the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus."
