Kevin Kampen graduated from Westgate in 2006. After graduating, Kevin went to CMU to pursue a music degree. He had also started working at Camps with Meaning and was involved in a church partnership with Matheson Island. After a few years at CMU, the camp and community work inspired him to change direction and become a teacher, but he stayed there long enough to meet Erika, whom he married in 2012. He completed his B.A. in Kinesiology in 2012 and his B.E. in 2014 from the University of Winnipeg. Immediately after his final practicum in May 2014 he landed a job at Springs Christian Academy. After teaching 4-12 P.E. and athletic directing there for 5 years, he was happy to come back home to Westgate in September 2019. He enjoys coaching volleyball, ultimate, leading music in chapel, and leading groups on any outdoor adventures. Together with his partner Erika, their daughter Willow May, their son Clover Rain and their toy poodle Luna, they live in North Kildonan and worship at Hope Mennonite Church. In his spare time Kevin enjoys going for walks with the family, canoeing, biking, hiking, cross country skiing, ultimate, camping, traveling, and reading.
