Jeff joined the Westgate family in the spring of 2019. As well as being our Computer Technology Coordinator, Jeff will be teaching an optional robotics course to grade 9 students starting in the fall of 2020. Jeff grew up in Steinbach and Fort Richmond, and graduated from the University of Manitoba in 1991 with a Bachelor of Education. He has 25 plus years of teaching experience that includes 6 years in Oxford House, 15 years at SJR (ICT), General Wolfe (coding & robotics), and has even taught software to adults. Jeff was also the Computer Technology Coordinator for 13 years at the University of Winnipeg’s Collegiate. Jeff is married to Chrystal (nee Tiessen), and celebrated their 30th anniversary in the summer of 2021. They have 4 adult children, 2 daughter-in-law and 2 precious granddaughters. His daughters, Emily (2015) and Meghan (2017) both graduated from Westgate. Jeff is a member of Sterling Mennonite Fellowship, and has attended with his family since 1998. In his spare time, Jeff loves to learn new things and has collected his fair share of certificates, certifications and licenses. He also loves travelling, playing video games and golf.
