Six Grade 8 students accompanied me to the DREAM Human Rights conference on Wednesday, April 16, 2014. It was an inspiring day, filled with positivity, camaraderie, and information about Manitoba’s protected human rights. We listened to keynote speaker and performer Keith MacPherson (in picture with our students), who spoke of fighting our inner ‘saboteur’ in order to live life fully and happily – truly inspiring! After this great start to the day, students participated in activities and listened to speakers, all in order to better understand Manitoba’s human rights history, its present responsibilities, and where we want to take society and acceptance of all in the future. A great day was had by all!
